As one of Gulf Shores’ first condominiums, Island Winds West was in need of a complete overhaul of the gulf side balconies. The majority of the existing metal framing and stucco cladding was removed and replaced with floor to ceiling high impact windows and sliding glass doors. The window upgrades vastly improved the building’s ability to resist wind driven rain and also increased the gulf view in each unit. The success of this large undertaking by Island Winds West is attributed to the coordination effort put forth by the Homeowners Association Board of Directors, Brett/Robinson’s Association Management team, and Sarasota, FL based Delta Engineering.
