As one of Gulf Shores’ first condominiums, Island Winds East was in need of a complete overhaul of the gulf side balconies. The majority of the existing metal framing and stucco cladding was removed and replaced with floor to ceiling high impact windows and sliding glass doors. The window upgrades vastly improved the building’s ability to resist wind driven rain and also increased the gulf view in each unit. The success of this large undertaking by Island Winds East is attributed to the coordination effort put forth by the Home Owners Association Board of Directors, Brett/Robinson’s Association Management team and Destin based, BE-CI engineering firm.
